To achieve our strategy plan, Impact 2023, and the focus area Profitable Growth, we're now recruiting a Vice President Sales.

We are looking for an experienced sales- and commercial leader with a proven and successful track record of selling complex solutions- and services contracts. You will have the overall responsibility for developing and delivering signed contracts in Heavy Industry segments across Veolia’s broad range of offers within Hard Facility Management & Utility Solutions (Energy and Water) on the basis of a key account approach. Lead times for projects is in the range of 6-36 months. To be successful you are skilled in establishing high-trust and effective working relationships and knows how to operate in a matrix organization with many stakeholders internally and externally. You will be working closely together with Operations, Business Development colleagues and local KAM and Contract managers. You will spearhead a key account approach and culture across the business lines.

The position will be located in Stockholm or Gothenburg and you will report to the SVP Utility Solutions and report with a dotted line to the SVP Technical Management and to the Director Business Development.

Your key responsibilities are following:

  • Partnering closely with the SVP [Business Line Managers] BD Director and BD peers and other senior leaders to develop the overall business strategy, identify strategic partnerships and opportunities within and across your market segments.
  • Having overall responsibility for business development within a number of Heavy Industry segments across the Nordics including, individual and organizational sales targets, and planning of activities and resources.
  • Lead the work of making sales plans
  • Lead all steps in the Sales Process from empty paper to signed contract in cooperation with Business Development and Operations.
  • Foster a Key Account culture, where creating value for the customers is at the centre of your efforts and develop one-service customers to multi-service customers.
  • End-to-end responsibility from identifying opportunities to delivering contracts.
  • Enjoy direct responsibility for managing business opportunities for complex contracts based on advanced technical, commercial and financial solutions

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven capability in delivering winning, multi-million € complex services opportunities. Ideally with a background in solutions and services and experience within business development from opportunity identification through to project delivery.
  • Experience from opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions and solution design.
  • Excellent commercial understanding, P&L and risk management skills. 
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities. Solid understanding and implementation of internal governance procedures.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, where you have demonstrated results as well as an ability to master several different industrial segments across different cultures.
  • You experience from working with complex industrial business development and it would be preferable if you have experience from working with heavy industries or large manufacturing industries.
  • You have structured, and successfully negotiated complex (technical, commercial, financial) partnership and long-term contracts with large companies.
