The Finance function

The Finance function within Veolia Nordic has had an extensive focus on M&A and transformation in the last few years. In total, divestments corresponding to EUR 140 million and acquisitions corresponding to EUR 230 million in revenue have been completed between 2017 and 2019.
Veolia Nordic is now entering a new phase, focusing on organic growth and on consolidating and optimizing the organization and its systems and processes.

The complexity of the business is high and includes both capital-light services and balance-sheet driven solutions, resulting in a dynamic financial structure requiring close monitoring and robust performance management.

The finance function consists of approx. 30 employees focusing on Accounting and Reporting, Business Controlling, M&A, Group Reporting, Internal Control and Treasury.
5 managers and specialists report directly to the CFO.

The CFO will be a key partner to the CEO and is expected to take the lead in completing the transformation of the finance function as well as continuing its development into a more strategic and proactive one, being a natural business partner to stakeholders throughout the organization.

The position

The position reports to the CEO and is part of the Nordic Management Team.

The right candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to contribute to improved profitability and continued growth. This will require the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant academic background and extensive experience from a similar position
  • Good knowledge of IFRS
  • Previous experience from M&A and supporting organic growth
  • Analytical mindset and strategic thinking
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills
  • A natural leader who understands what it means to be working in a matrix organization in an international setting
  • Good command of English and willingness to learn Swedish
